Pietro Venuti submarine was launched on 9th October. It is the third U212A class submarine.
Secretary of Defense, Roberta Pinotti, and the Chief of Staff of the Italian Navy, Giuseppe De Giorgio participated at the event. The new technological jewel is the 101st submarine built by Fincantieri in Muggiano from 1907: 57 meter long, 12 meter wide, it can reach 16 knots and it has 27 crew members.
Guests followed the ceremony from the 600 seats stand built especially for the event. At the end of the launch, participants found room in a 1.200 square meter hall designed for catering, built with wooden painted wall customized with pictures depicting the different stages of Venuti building.
